Crucify your Flesh
As we know, we were all born in sin. This means that at the beginning when God made Adam and Eve, and when they both took part in the deception of what was forbidden, life changed in a way that was never intended for mankind. Because of this action, it has changed the course in the way humans are born. Living in sin is different from being born in it. We all have a sinful nature; it is what we were born in. There is nothing that can change that part. When it comes to living in sin, is where you are actually living in a life of sin. Sin is determined by way of how you choose to live your life. It is formed by our thoughts and thoughts become actions. The way we live our lives demonstrates a sinful nature. Being born into sin describes us all but doesn’t dictate the outcome of eternal life. Living in sin does. We have a God who gives saving grace because of us being born in sin. He knows that we will fall short of the glory of Him at times, that is why he is patient with us because of the mercy that he has for us. He loves us dearly, and that is the reason why He gives us so much mercy. He gives mercy because he does not want to see any of his creation to perish into eternal damnation. He wants us to walk in purity, to be born again from sin and be of a righteous servant for His kingdom. That is where we know how to crucify the flesh daily.
It is up to us, in what we choose as a way of life. But when we stand with the Lord, we must decide to crucify our flesh and walk with him daily. In order to crucify the flesh, we have to be in prayer and a close relationship with the Lord. Spend time with the Lord like a normal relationship. Speak to the Lord, he wants to hear from us all. He wants us to ask for our wants, he wants us to tell Him our desires, he wants to keep us covered from the world of darkness, he wants to prosper us in his kingdom. He wants us to abide in Him, to TRUST HIM. To acknowledge who he is and turn away from the cares of the world that hold you captive not only in your mind, but your flesh. Your flesh is corruptible. We all have a spirit within us that will leave our flesh like body. Your spirit will go to one of two places depending on the way you lived your life. If you accepted God into your heart and walked in life of purity than your spirit will leave to be with Him, if you pass on before God comes back for his Bride. If you lived a life of sin, then your spirit will go to hell, and eventually in the lake of fire for all eternity. It is a choice that we all must make.
Living a life of sin, taught me a valuable lesson in my own life. One of the major lessons it taught me, was that my life is not promised to me. While dealing with those that were only in my life to cause havoc, and issues, I found out that I allowed these people in my life that opened the door to things I could have avoided had I been walking in the means of what God has for me. I was exposed to some things that I was aware of, but it was one of those situations where I didn’t ever think it would happen to me. So, it allowed me to see people in a way of who they are, and not how I wanted to see them. But like I said I learned that I needed to begin once again, to crucify my flesh daily, so that the Lord can reveal to me the character of a person. I needed guidance, I needed reassurance, I needed love, I needed mercy, and I needed to know who I was. And the only way I was able to understand this way of life, was to crucify my flesh. This took time, fasting, prayer, and reading the bible. This took me to a new level of understanding who I am. I am by no means at a place to tell anyone what to do with their life, not even the Lord does that, but what I can say is that He will allow things to happen in your life, because of doors that you opened in your life that He did not intend to be open.
Reflection Scriptures (KJV):
Romans 5:6 – Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Romans 8:13 – For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Luke 9:23 – And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Galatians 5:24 – And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
