Idolatry
When is the point where we ask ourselves, “if what we are doing, is pleasing to God”? It’s a simple question. Most can relate to what I’m saying because you know exactly what I’m saying. And to be honest, there are others that have yet to ask themselves this question. I at this point in my life, ask myself this quite often now and days. I have to do what I call a self-check. Matter fact, I try to do this every day, with what I listen to, what I watch, who I engage in conversation, and build relationships with. A self-check helps me to understand God more, and what he requires of us. And as this journey has been going in my life, I realized as my growth in the Lord progressed, it showed me where I idolized certain things, and even people. Males in particular; or for lack of better words, my relationships.
I look back on my life and see how God had to mold me into the person I am today. As life happens, and as you’re trying to be in control of situations, you tend to put what matters most on the back burner and end up placing other things in front of the most important asset of your life. GOD THAT IS!!!! Your true love, our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ!!!! What I’ve noticed over the course of the last few years, is the mother nature kind of vibe in the atmosphere. Where the UNIVERSE IS YOUR BIGGEST FAVORABLE RETURN WHEN WHAT YOU ALLOW INTO YOUR LIFE GOES OUT INTO THE UNIVERSE. We look at the UNIVERSE TO BRING OUR MANIFESTATIONS INTO REALITY, we look for CRYSTALS to help with aligning with the moon, stars, sun, etc. We look to SAGE AND CERTAIN HERBS TO WAGE OFF BAD SPIRITS, AND WE SEE IT AS JUST A MERE TECHNIQUE TO TRY & JUSTIFY OUR ACTIONS BUT IN REALITY, IT IS WHAT WE CALL IDOLTARY. If we were to dig deep into the BIBLICAL ROOTS, and not ancestors, we would find the TRUTH of what these things have been turned to be used for.
Now, what I will say that Satan has used the greatness of God’s creation and warped it into what he wants. So, for every good thing, there is a bad thing behind it. He mimics God’s creation and turns it into a perverted version of what God wanted for the world. And that is where these natural resources are now being used as an idolizing tool.
Define Idolatry:
Let’s define the word idolatry:
Extreme admiration, love, or reverence for something or someone.
Biblical definition of idolatry:
The worship of someone or something other than God as though it were God.
The definition of idolatry can put things into better perspective when we can fully understand both webster and biblical definitions. If you believe that money, is the answer to all of your financial issues, or happiness, then this is considered idolatry. If you believe that the UNIVERSE will give you the desires of your heart, then this idolatry. If you feel that sage wages off evil spirits, this is called idolatry. If you believe that crystals give great energy around you, then this is called idolatry. If you believe that anything or person will bring about what you need or don’t need in your life, happiness, money, love, or growth besides God, then it is considered idolatry. God is a jealous God. Even his name is above all NAMES.
I’ve learned that putting someone before God can get you in a world of trouble. You start thinking they’re the source to your happiness, peace, and joy. And you start looking for expectancy from them thinking they will be on demand for all your personal desires of what you want. And eventually you realize that they can’t be on demand because their imperfect like yourself. This is why a lot more marriages end up in DIVORCE than not! Ask yourself this, when is the last time you have let someone else down. Most times, we must really place ourselves in the shoes of others and see how we fall short just as much. If we look to a spouse to fulfill us, we are looking at failure in the eye every day.
That is why God ask of us to place him before all things. When we do this, we are allowing HIM to be who he is and guide your steps. We are giving God all of the control and placing TRUST INTO HIM! Most times, now and days we are too impatient to wait on the Lord, because we haven’t learned how to crucify the flesh. Of course, crucifying your flesh is a daily thing, but the more trust you place in the Lord you will start to see the benefits and fulfillment in your life that no man, or thing can ever do.
One thing that God has called of us, is to pray and build a close relationship in order to understand how HE operates, and how there is no need for objects or people to do what God can do. Praying helps with, healing, deliverance, trust, forgiving, prosperity, abundance, love, issues of life, and sustaining a GREAT MARRIAGE. By placing God first over all things, and fully depending on him you will find that He is all you need, and that things and people will always fail you, BUT JESUS WONT!!!
